Shaw's Adds Newman's Own Organic Pet Food
WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- As of tomorrow, Shaw's Supermarkets will carry the full line of 16 products of Newman's Own Organic pet food, in both dry and wet varieties. Shaw's said it will be the first supermarket in the region to carry the full line.
Shaw's president Carl Jablonski said the chain made the move because it recognized the importance of pets as part of the familyu, an obvious reference to the current and growing spate of pet food recalls because of contaminated ingredients.
"We have put tremendous focus on carrying a wide variety of organic foods for our customers," Jablonski added.
The chain said Newman's Own Organic pet products are made with a unique blend of proteins, whole grains, vitamins, and minerals that maximize taste, digestibility, and nutrient absorption. They are not made with poultry by-products, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, chemical additives, wheat or corn, artificial flavors, or artificial colors or dyes.
Shaw's, Osco and Star Market are a division of Supervalu. It operates nearly 210 stores in six New England states.
