Schnucks Remodel Hits All Marks

ST. LOUIS -- Schnucks Markets, based here, incorporated many on-trend changes into the extensive remodel of its Concord Village store in south St. Louis County.

The chain has upgraded, expanded, or remodeled departments across the 52,000-square-foot store, starting with placing a new floral department at the entrance. In the perishable departments, Schnucks added new produce cases, replaced the food bar, and added a new hot food case to the deli. It also converted the bakery department to a self-service operation.

The chain also made upgrades in the dairy and meat departments, both of which received new refrigerated cases. It expanded frozens space and added news cases there as well. Pharmacy expanded into space that formerly held a video section, and HBC items moved nearby the new pharmacy, which in turn freed space for two more aisles of grocery products.

The retailer also moved the cold beer and wine department, and reconfigured both the grocery and general merchandise departments for maximum efficiency, it said.

Throughout, the store adopts Schnucks' new contemporary Marketplace décor.

"Our new décor is the same package being used in all the new Schnucks stores where it has proven to be popular with customers," said store manager John Sander. "Concord Village has been redesigned with service and convenience options that will enhance every shopping experience. We are already hearing great things from our loyal shoppers, and we hope to attract many new customers in the months to come."

Schnuck Markets, Inc. operates 102 stores (including five Logli stores) and 99 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa.
