Roundy's Selects NCR FastLane

ATLANTA -- Atlanta-based NCR Corp. announced that grocery wholesaler Roundy's, Inc. plans to install NCR's FastLane self-checkout solution in two of its supermarket chains.

Roundy's has ordered NCR FastLane for installation in three Pick 'n Save stores serving the Milwaukee area and in three locations of the company's recently acquired Rainbow Food Stores, serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

According to a study conducted recently for NCR by global market intelligence and advisory firm IDC, nearly 80 percent of U.S. consumers said they would be likely or very likely to use self-checkout. More than 40 percent said they would be more likely to shop in a store that offered self-checkout than one that did not.

In addition to NCR FastLane, Roundy's currently uses NCR RealPOS terminals and NCR RealScan barcode scanners chainwide.
