Ring Bros. Marketplace Kids’ Cooking Classes Back by Popular Demand

Community-based independent Ring Bros. Marketplace will be offering Kids’ Cooking Classes next week to coincide with local school vacation week.

The hands-on classes will again be run by Ring GM and Culinary Institute of America-trained chef Don Fallon. Due to the overwhelming response to the classes in February, the South Dennis, Mass.-based grocer will hold two classes a day for the week of school vacation. The class size will be kept small so every child will be able to participate.

There will be two classes a day Monday April 19 through Friday April 23 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost for each class is $10. Class sizes will be limited to four students per session.

Topics for this series of cooking classes are as follows:

Monday, April 19: Cupcakes
Tuesday, April 20: Macaroni & Cheese
Wednesday, April 21: Pizza
Thursday, April 22: Cookies
Friday, April 23: Grilling

In addition to learning the specific recipes, kids attending the class will learn about kitchen safety, how to read and follow a recipe, how to measure ingredients, basic nutrition, and basic cooking skills.

Ring Bros. Marketplace brings together six independently owned businesses: Ring Bros. Markets specializes in fresh produce, dairy and grocery products; Harney’s Liquors provides a selection of wines, craft brews and top-shelf liquors; Dark Horse Beef and Deli offers all-natural beef, chicken, cheese and deli products; Spinner’s Pizza & Burrito prepares fresh gourmet pizzas, burritos, take-home meals and homemade desserts; Chatham Fish & Lobster offers fresh fish, shellfish and lobster; and Nata’s Noodles and Montilio’s Express round out the marketplace with desserts, freshly made pasta and prepared gourmet foods.
