Raley's Rallies for California Fire Victims

Raley's Family of Fine Stores, along with the Sacramento Kings and Fox40 have teamed up to aid American Red Cross relief efforts in the wake of the Valley Fire and Butte Fire, which together have claimed more than 800 homes in California.

Monetary donations will be accepted at all 114 Raley's, Bel Air Markets and Nob Hill Foods locations beginning today. Customers, fans and viewers can also donate funds online at Foodforfamilies.org or directly from their mobile phones by texting ENDHUNGER to 85944.

“We know the impact community can have in times of critical need. Raley’s quickly activated our stores and joined with our partners at the Sacramento Kings and Fox40 to serve as a community resource for giving to help the victims impacted by the devastation," said Raley's spokesperson Chelsea Minor.

The Kings are doing their part by enlisting donations, raising awareness and recognizing firefights serving the community at a Kings game scheduled for Oct. 10.

“Extending the #DoGood spirit to our fans and offering them an opportunity to contribute will help victims on the long road to recovery. And on October 10, we’ll rally around these communities and give them the support they need," said Scott Moak, Kings' VP of community impact.

Added Ed Chapuis, Fox40 VP, "We feel fortunate to be able to raise money for victims and raise awareness for the tremendous need for relief.”

The Red Cross is providing shelter, meals, water, relief supplies, health services and emotional comfort in the wake of this tragedy.
