Produce for Pink Debuts at PMA Fresh Summit

The Produce for Pink campaign, which unites the fresh produce industry's commitment to the fight against breast cancer, will make its debut at the PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta on Oct. 14..

Supporters can make donations at stations on the show floor, and exhibitors are encouraged to include Produce for Pink donation boxes or promotional posters in their booths. All funds raised through Produce for Pink during PMA Fresh Summit 2011 will be donated to a Atlanta hospital to help those in immediate need of breast cancer treatment.

In addition, exhibitors and Fresh Summit attendees can support Produce for Pink by wearing pink shirts, ties, shoes or accessories on Oct. 15 to show support for the cause.

Two produce marketing firms, DMA Solutions and McDill Associates, are collaborating to make Produce for Pink a successful and ongoing campaign. “This was a vision that Cindy Jewell of California Giant Berry Farms, long-time supporters of breast cancer awareness, wanted to bring to life and we are excited to be a part of it,” states Dan’l Mackey Almy, president of DMA Solutions. “And we are proud to work with McDill, another leading marketing firm in fresh produce, to make it happen.”

Melissa McDill, president of McDill Associates, adds “As an industry we believe it’s important to join together and create a difference for such an important cause.”
