Perishables Group Adds Four New Staffers
CHICAGO -- The Perishables Group, a specialty consulting firm based here, has beefed up its staff with four new members.
The firm named Jana Mickey senior account manager. Mickey formerly was a manager at Charter Consulting, where she oversaw client engagements across a variety of industries, focusing on project management, analysis and research, and business process redesign.
Melissa Simpson has joined the consultancy as an account manager responsible for providing experience in project management and promotions. Simpson's prior professional experience includes marketing services at OgilvyAction, where she was responsible for planning, managing, and executing innovative marketing programs for consumer package goods clients that included point of sale, sampling, direct mail, print advertising, demo events, and other in-store program elements.
The Perishables Group has also appointed Chris Balzer assistant account manager. Balzer came from the NPD Group, where he worked in consumer research, product management, and data operations for several major brands and manufacturers in the food and beverage industry.
Additionally, Maggie Ridley joins the Perishables Group as an assistant marketing manager from Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations agency, where she formerly worked in both the brand marketing practice in Chicago and the public affairs practice in Washington D.C. Ridley helped develop and manage media relations, coordinate events, and implement influencer outreach initiatives for a variety of consumer and public education programs.
"The Perishables Group has experienced a tremendous amount of growth over the past year," said Steve Lutz, e.v.p. "The experience, strategic thinking, and creativity that Jana, Melissa, Chris, and Maggie bring to the company provide a fresh perspective to our business and our clients as we continue to expand and evolve."
