PepsiCo Named Presenting Sponsor of 2011 Hispanic Retail 360 Summit

PepsiCo will be the presenting sponsor for the 2011 Hispanic Retail 360 Summit, being held Aug. 10 to Aug. 12, 2011, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in Southern California.

The Hispanic Retail 360 Summit, now in its seventh year, is the retail industry’s premier event for retailers and marketers looking to grow their business with the Latino consumer market in the U.S. It’s a high-level conference and tabletop exhibition including an informative conference program and opportunities for face-to-face interaction between retailers, suppliers and experts in Latino marketing. The conference provides retailers and suppliers a complete 360-degree look at the Hispanic shopper, using data from leading researchers, retailer case studies, and noted experts on demographics, buying behavior, segmentation, marketing, merchandising, product sourcing, store design and in-store marketing to Latino consumers.

“PepsiCo is honored to sponsor the Hispanic 360 Retail Conference,” said Marie Quintana, SVP of PepsiCo multicultural sales. “Supporting the Hispanic consumer’s needs with brands that stand for quality -- household names such as Quaker Oats, Tropicana, Gatorade, Lay’s and Pepsi-Cola -- is core to our growth strategy. We are excited to offer our U.S. Hispanic communities a more locally based portfolio of foods and beverages, including Sabritas and Gamesa, that we all remember as kids.”

The 2011 Hispanic Retail Summit will be keynoted by Vicente Fox, Mexico’s president from 2000 to 2006. A visionary leader with a deep understanding of the economic and social challenges facing Latin America, Fox is one of the world’s most important voices on the contemporary geopolitical landscape and the role of business in the developing world.

When elected to the presidency of Mexico in 2000, Fox broke the stranglehold that the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party had held on the State for seven decades. A charismatic reformer, he is credited as playing a vital role in Mexico’s democratization, and with strengthening the country’s economy. During his tenure, Fox succeeded in controlling inflation and interest rates, and in achieving the lowest unemployment rate in all of Latin America.

Fox will be joined on the agenda by an impressive lineup of speakers from retailers, consumer product goods manufacturers, and leading multicultural marketing authors, consultants and agencies.
