Pathmark Appoints New S.V.P. of Nonperishable Merchandising
CARTERET, N.J. -- Pathmark Stores, Inc. said Friday that Mark Barnett has been named s.v.p. of nonperishable merchandising. Barnett comes to the Northeast regional grocer from Chandler, Ariz.-based Bashas', Inc., where he served as s.v.p. of sales and merchandising.
A veteran in the area of supermarket merchandising, Barnett will handle grocery, nonfoods, pharmacy, dairy, and frozen foods for Pathmark. He will report to Ken Martindale, the company's recently appointed co-president and chief merchandising and marketing officer.
Pathmark currently operates 141 supermarkets, primarily in the New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
