NJFC 'Night of Distinction' to Honor 3 Industry Leaders

The New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) will host the annual “Night of Distinction” reception on Thursday March 22 at 6 p.m., at the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford. During the evening, the Trenton-based trade association will honor three industry professionals who have made a meaningful contribution to advance the mission of the council, have achieved significant food industry success and have a history of civic service in the state.

This year’s honorees are Dominick J. Romano of RoNetco Supermarkets of Ledgewood, which operate under the ShopRite banner; Michael Murphy of Quick Chek Corp. of Whitehouse; and Joseph Fantozzi of White Rose Food of Carteret. Representatives from all segments of the food industry will attend the gala event.

“The Night of Distinction is the food industry’s showcase event where we pay tribute to accomplished industry leaders who have helped us become one of the finest food trade associations in the country,” said NJFC president Linda Doherty. “This prestigious group of leaders is held in the highest regard throughout our industry.”

For the first time, the event will feature a silent auction of sports memorabilia from New Rochelle, N.Y.-based Steiner Sports Collectables, a noted memorabilia dealer in the metro New York area. Included in the auction will be authentic autographed and collectable items from popular local sports teams.

NJFC has almost 400 members representing more than 1,200 retail food stores, wholesalers, manufacturing and service companies that supply them.
