Nielsen Provides Blueprint for Embracing the Multicultural Opportunity

Noted world-class research firm Nielsen will deliver insights on how organizations can effectively reach Hispanic consumers through a better understanding of what they watch and how they buy at this year’s Hispanic Retail 360 Summit next month.

The 8th Annual Hispanic Retail 360 Summit, being held Aug. 15-17, at JW Marriott at LA Live in Los Angeles, is produced by Stagnito Media, publisher of Convenience Store News, Progressive Grocer, The Gourmet Retailer, Progressive Grocer Store Brands and Retail Leader magazines.

In a General Session on Friday, Aug. 17, Monica Gil, SVP of government and public affairs and James Russo, VP of global consumer insights for Schaumburg, Ill.-based Nielsen, will give a top-line overview of the Hispanic consumer, taking a deep dive into data and trends within compelling statistics and a demographic framework shaping the future. They’ll also share best practices from companies that are the most successful at growing share and multicultural audiences. Highlights will include success factors and measures across an organization, including marketing, human resources, market research, advertising and social media, among others.

Gil was named one of Hispanic Business Magazine’s “100 Influential” and one of “The Most Powerful and Influential Latinos in Entertainment” by The Image Foundation in 2011. She was also recognized as one of Los Angeles’ “Women Making a Difference” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Russo is one of today’s leading experts on consumer attitudes and behavior, prominently and frequently featured in the nation’s top business outlets. He’s a frequent contributor to leading media outlets such as CNBC, Bloomberg News, Fox Business, The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times.
