Natural Grocers Brings Kombucha Taps to Salt Lake City
Natural Grocers customers in the Salt Lake City area soon will be able to purchase fresh kombucha by the growler.
The Lakewood, Colo.-based natural foods retailer is partnering with GT's Kombucha to offer taps of the fizzy, functional fermented tea beverage at three locations in the region – two in Salt Lake City and one at a new store in South Jordan – starting Feb. 23. Customers will be able to fill a 32- or 64-ounce growler jug with their GT's Kombucha flavor of choice, including Gingerade and Synergy Trilogy.
The taps launched at the grand opening of the South Jordan store on March 15, with the other two stores getting taps the following day. The South Jordan location is offering grand-opening discounts of $5 off the 64-ounce growlers and $3 off the 32-ounce growlers through March 31, as well as free kombucha mocktail classes on April 2.
The kombucha craze is getting even trendier as enthusiasts everywhere flock to try new brands and flavor profiles. As innovations in the kombucha world expand, aficionados of the fizzy drink are exploring new ways to customize their experience.
Natural Grocers will host a launch party March 18 at the Salt Lake City Downtown and Sugarhouse locations, which will include free mocktail samples; drawings for $100 and $25 gift cards, blankets, and cutting boards; and free reusable shopping bags. Customers can receive the same kombucha discounts offered at the South Jordan store, through March 18.
