Natural Grocers Acquires Nature's Pantry

Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has purchased Nature’s Pantry Inc., a single-unit natural foods retailer located in Independence, Mo. The deal is expected to close on Dec. 7 when the store will assume the Natural Grocers banner. It will be one of 18 stores Natural Grocers is expected to open in fiscal 2015.

"We are excited to become part of the Independence community," said Kemper Isely, co-president of Natural Grocers in a Digital Journal report. "In entering this new market, we look forward to continuing Nature's Pantry's mission of empowering customers to make informed health decisions through our nutrition education, high quality standards and affordable prices."

Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage is a natural and organic specialty retailer that sells products without artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives and do not contain partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils. The chain, established in 1955, operates 90 locations in 15 states.
