Mollie Stone's Taps Instacart for Grocery Deliveries
Mollie Stone's Markets has selected Instacart as its grocery delivery partner in San Francisco, which will allow customers to place orders with the Mill Valley, Calif.-based grocer and have them delivered in as little as one hour. The nine-store grocer plans to extend Instacart's delivery coverage to other parts of the Bay Area in the coming months.
Mike Stone, CEO of Mollie Stone's Markets, said he's looking forward to providing "exceptional customer service, and to offering the extensive selection of local and organic products that makes our family-owned business unique."
Nilam Ganenthiran, head of business development and strategy for San Francisco-based Instacart, said, "Mollie Stone's is an institution in San Francisco with a commitment to offering a wide selection of staple products and rare treasures, serving both the necessity shopper and the passion shopper looking for more local or exotic foods. ... We also love helping local businesses launch e-commerce and expand their reach via delivery."
The service connects retail customers with consumers and drivers who shop for groceries and use their own transportation to deliver orders in as little as one hour. For the retailer, this eliminates the need for costly infrastructure such as inventory, warehouses and trucks.
