Minnesota Grocers Hire Government Affairs Director

The Minnesota Grocers Association has hired a veteran of state government as its new government affairs director.

Mike Karbo comes to the association with an extensive background in government relations and political strategy with comprehensive knowledge of the Minnesota legislature. Most recently a committee administrator in the Minnesota State Senate, Karbo also served as administrator and political adviser to the chairman of the Environment and Natural Resources, as which he was responsible for shaping the committee’s policy agenda and managing administrative issues. He also served as a legislative assistant for state Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen (R-Alexandria).

Karbo is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and history.

The St. Paul-based Minnesota Grocers Association is a state trade association representing the food retail industry, with more than 200 retail members representing 1,100 stores statewide, as well as 100 distributors and manufacturers.
