Michael A. Witynski Becomes Dollar Tree President/COO

Dollar Tree Inc. has promoted Michael A. Witynski to the position of president and COO of its Dollar Tree segment. Continuing to report to Enterprise President Gary Philbin, Witynski will oversee merchandising, marketing and store operations for more than 6,200 stores operating under the Dollar Tree banner across the United States.

Witynski joined Dollar Tree in 2010 as SVP of stores, rising to COO in July 2015. Before coming to the Chesapeake, Va.-based company, he held executive leadership positions at Shaw’s Supermarkets and Supervalu Inc. Duncan Mac Naughton, currently president and COO of Dollar Tree’s Family Dollar division, also worked at Minneapolis-based Supervalu, holding the role of EVP, merchandising and marketing from 2006 to 2009, as well as head of its health-and-wellness division.

Dollar Tree operates more than 14,400 stores in 48 states and five Canadian provinces under the Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree Canada banners.
