Marsh Partners with Girl Scouts on Storm Relief

Marsh Supermarkets and Girl Scouts of Central Indiana team up to conduct storm relief supply drives this past weekend.

“Marsh has a long-standing commitment to support our communities and our neighbors in times of need,” said Joe Kelley, Marsh chairman, CEO and president. “In addition to the $20,000 cash donation we have already made to assist southern Indiana families in their efforts to recover from last week’s severe storms, we are pleased to partner with Girl Scouts of Central Indiana to help collect much needed supplies for those relief efforts.”

Marsh provided Girl Scout troops in Central Indiana the opportunity to conduct storm relief supply drives at Marsh stores over this past weekend. Scouts were at many stores handing out lists of needed items, such as over-the-counter medications, plastic storage bags and trash bags, to shoppers entering the store. The girls then collected any donated items as shoppers exited the store. All donated items were to be delivered to relief agencies in southern Indiana and affected areas in Kentucky.

“As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts, I could think of no better way to honor our heritage of service and sisterhood than to partner with Marsh Supermarkets to help our sister Girl Scouts and fellow Hoosiers,” said Deborah Hearn Smith, CEO of Girl Scouts of Central Indiana.

Indianapolis-based Marsh operates 70 Marsh stores, including three O’Malia’s Supermarkets and 27 MainStreet Markets, in Indiana and Ohio, with 40 Indiana pharmacy locations.
