As part of wave of grand openings slated for Nov. 16, Lidl US will open its first-ever New Jersey store in the city of Vineland, well beyond the Southeast region in which the German hard-discounter made its American debut earlier this year. Currently, its northernmost U.S. store is in Middletown, Del.

Additional store openings scheduled to take place the same day will be in Winston-Salem, N.C.; Raleigh, N.C. -- the first in that city -- and Virginia Beach, Va., marking the chain’s ninth location in the Hampton Roads area.

In other Lidl US news, starting Nov. 2, the retailer will roll out premium seasonal products to help shoppers prepare for the holidays. Every Thursday and Monday, Lidl will bring in 200-plus premium food and wine products, and more than 300 holiday decorations and gift items.

Food items will include Preferred Selection Cheesy Potato au Gratin and Panna Cotta Peach Cake, Favorina Italian Panettone and German Stollen, apple cider doughnuts and seasonal pies in the fresh bakery section, and, starting Nov. 30, Maine Lobster Tails in 2-packs for $12.99 each. Meanwhile, Lidl’s holiday wine collection, including Veuve Louise Sparkling Rosé, will arrive on shelves Nov. 16. Products are only available while supplies last.

Arlington County, Va.-based Lidl US operates 40 stores in Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
