Kroger Expands Fuel Rewards in Tennessee

Tennessee drivers have the opportunity to catch a break at the pump as Cincinnati-based Kroger expands its fuel rewards program, according to a published report in The Tennessean.

The rewards program allows customers to cash in points accumulated through purchasing groceries toward discounts on fuel purchases at Kroger and participating Shell gas stations. Previously, discounts were limited to 10 cents off each gallon purchased, although customers could use that discount multiple times over the course of a month. The expanded program allows customers to spend as much as 1,000 points to get a $1-per-gallon discount for one fill-up of up to 35 gallons of fuel.

Points can be earned at a rate of one point per each dollar spent on groceries; 50 points for non-federally funded prescriptions filled at the pharmacy; and Double Gift Card Points at a rate of 100 points per $50 in gift cards, according to the company's Web site

The extra discounts are available at more than 40 Kroger supermarkets and Shell stations in the Nashville area.
