King Kullen Offers Mardi Gras Tips on Pinterest
King Kullen Co. Inc. is sharing recipes, crafts and ideas on its Pinterest page in advance of Mardi Gras, which falls on Feb. 17 this year.
Among the Northeast regional grocery chain's suggestions is to decorate party spaces with the holiday’s customary beads and traditional colors of purple, yellow and green, as well as to use food coloring in the appropriate shades to dye baked goods and other treats.
Recipes provided by the grocer on the popular social media site include New Orleans-inspired culinary innovations like Cajun guacamole, as well as classics like jambalaya. Meanwhile, those who observe Lent (which arrives after Mardi Gras) by abstaining from meat in favor of seafood can try digging into King Kullen's Skinny Avocado Pizza festooned with shrimp.
Bethpage, N.Y.-based King Kullen, a family-owned and –operated company, has 37 supermarkets and five Wild by Nature stores across New York's Long Island.
