Jewel-Osco Celebrates Earth Month

Chicago-area supermarket chain Jewel-Osco’s fourth annual Earth Month celebration will feature samples from more than 25 natural/organic brand partners, along with goodie bags, gift cards, raffles and other activities.

“Jewel-Osco does its best to listen to the community and respond to their changing needs. That’s why we offer our customers a wide variety of organic, natural and specialty items at competitive prices,” said Jim Seidler, Jewel-Osco’s natural and specialty buyer. “We want to make sure our shoppers have the option to make the healthiest choices available to them.”

Customers can expect to sample an array of innovative and nutritious offerings, including Amy’s Organic Mac & Cheese, Organic Valley Grassmilk Yogurt, La Preferida Chef-Inspired Organic Bean Salad, Organic Gatorade, and Annie’s Organic Popcorn, plus cookies, crackers and fruit snacks.

Gift bags, as well as coupons for free products and discounts at Jewel-Osco, will be handed out at each of the four events. In addition, on select dates, Chicago-based Namaskar Yoga will hand out free single-class passes, and Core Power Yoga will raffle off a free monthly pass.

Earth Month events are open to the public and will be held at the Jewel-Osco locations on Southport (April 8) and Broadway (April 15) in Chicago, Evanston (April 22), and Lake Forest (April 29).

Itasca, Ill.-based Jewel-Osco, owned by New Albertsons Inc., has 186 locations in Illinois, northwest Indiana and Iowa.
