Harris Teeter Invites Linebacker to Lunch

Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason is dropping by the Moorcroft Village Harris Teeter store in Charlotte, N.C., at noon on Oct. 2 to introduce the grocer’s latest lunchtime selection: Beason’s custom-designed Signature Sub Sandwich, dubbed “The #52” in honor of his jersey number.

For $3.99, shoppers can fill up on the sub’s roasted turkey, Virginia ham and bacon topped with white American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and honey mustard on a kaiser roll. Customers also have the option of making it a lunch pack, consisting of “The #52” half-sub and a choice of one Chocolate Chunk, Macadamia Nut, Oatmeal Raisin or Cranberry Nut Cookie, for $4.49.

During his store visit, Beason will personally introduce customers to the sub, which will be available in the Fresh Foods Market Sandwich Shop in all Charlotte-area Harris Teeter locations, as well as sign autographs.

The Matthews, N.C.-based grocer plans to roll out additional Signature Sub Sandwiches from Panthers players, and currently offers the team’s merchandise.
