Harp’s Opens 3rd 10Box Store

Harps Food Stores opened a new 10Box Cost-Plus store in Springdale, Ark., the third store for the company’s latest concept, replacing its underperforming Price Cutter stores. The first 10Box opened in Conway, Ark., in April 2016. The concept charges customers the cost of goods plus 10 percent in exchange for them bagging their own groceries.

"For us, in the locations we're at, we identified some stores that we'd like to try to figure out if there's a way to gain market share and get some additional sales," said David Ganoung, the director of marketing at Harps in a news reports. "At this point, we're still evaluating our operations and trying to figure out. We're still learning as far as our execution."

The newest 10Box followed the same procedure as the first two; Harps closed an underperforming Price Cutter store and completely remodeled the store within a few week before reopening under the new banner. While 10Box is a Harps banner, the company markets the concept separately, making no mention of the Harps name in commercials airing in local markets.
