Green Zebra ‘Speed Dates’ for New Vendors

Green Zebra teamed up with Oregon State University’s Food Innovation Center in a Vendor Speed Date event on Monday, Jan. 9. The purpose was to meet new food growers and makers around Portland and the outlying region to help the specialty grocer fill the shelves of its new store, which will open on the school’s campus in February.

“Eating local isn’t just for people in certain zip codes,” said Green Zebra Founder and CEO Lisa Sedlar. “It’s for everyone. And by supporting local food makers, we have an opportunity to work together to strengthen our local food economy.”

Media was welcome at the event to meet the local vendors and hear their stories.

Green Zebra Grocery is a Portland, Ore.-based “healthy convenience” store that features fresh, local, organic and healthy food along with everyday groceries and house-made grab-and-go meal options. It currently operates two stores in Portland.
