MINNEAPOLIS -- Target Corp. here, in partnership with Supervalu, Inc., also based here, plans to open its first fresh foods distribution center, in Lake City, Fla., in late summer 2008. Target said the facility, which will be its first company-owned perishables distribution center, will enable the supercenter operator to ship frozen, refrigerated, and fresh produce items to stores in the Southeast.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The stars of Warner Bros. family hit film "Happy Feet" are being tapped by the National Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) here to jazz up the trade group's new promotion, "Tap Into Frozen." The promotion is timed to run during Frozen Food Month in March 2007.

ST. LOUIS -- Save-A-Lot, based here, said it will open five stores in Texas within the next month. Two will be in Houston, while the others will be located in Brownsville, Harlingen, and Victoria.
