Four More Albertsons Realign Under United

The United Family, the Lubbock, Texas-based subsidiary of Albertsons, said today it will supply four Albertsons stores located in New Mexico, effective next month. The stores will continue to operate under the Albertsons banner.

The move is similar to one made two month ago, when eight West Texas Albertsons stores transitioned to The United Family distribution.

“With our Lubbock-based distribution center within 200 miles of these cities, we can serve these four stores more efficiently and most effectively, which translates into greater quality on the shelves for our guests," said Robert Taylor, president of The United Family.

The affected stores are located in Carlsbad, Clovis, Hobbs and Roswell. The company said no personnel changes will be made as a result of the transition.

The United Family, headquartered in Lubbock, operates 68 stores under the United Supermarkets, Albertsons Market, Market Street, Amigos and United Express banners.
