Festival Foods Adds Fresh Produce to Senior Program

Festival Foods, Green Bay, Wis., has partnered with Heartland Produce, a Kenosha-based family-owned and operated wholesale produce distributor, to provide monthly deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables to the Racine/Kenosha Community Action Agency. The produce adds a fresh element to the organization’s senior program, which previously only provided non-perishable items like canned foods, cheese, peanut butter, cereal and pasta.

"We thank Heartland Produce for partnering with us to provide area seniors with fresh produce in addition to the other foods they receive every month from this very valuable program," said Mark Skogen, Festival Foods president and CEO.

The Senior Fresh Produce Initiative serves 240 area seniors through the agency’s Cupboard Bound Program, making produce available to income-eligible Racine County residents 60 or older. The initiative is only one way Festival Foods demonstrates its commitment to building relationships with customers and area organizations.
