Honolulu-based natural food retailer Down to Earth has brought its entire inventory online with Avocado’s cloud-based local commerce platform. Now customers at the chain's six stores can browse, search, find out about Down to Earth’s products and order same-day delivery.
“Avocado’s team fully understood the nuances of local retail and online shopping experience,” said Down to Earth VP and COO Cliff Hillier, who had been seeking an attractive, convenient option for customers. “They came up with innovative solutions to meet, and eventually exceed, our specifications.”
Srikanth Kakani, CEO of Santa Clara, Calif.-based Avocado, described the company’s app as “truly a delightful experience for users. Its underlying AI [artificial intelligence] algorithm suggests products based on user interest. Statistics show that users love discovering new products.”
Providing a way for local independent grocers to provide an omnichannel grocery shopping experience, the platform automates the process of acquiring digital assets for products and building an app and a website, thereby dramatically lowering the cost. Avocado also connects stores with local delivery services.
