CobornsDelivers Rolls Out Grocery Deliveries for Northstar Commuters

As a means of expanding its role as the only grocery delivery service serving park-and-ride commuters in its core marketing territory, St. Cloud, Minn.-based CobornsDelivers this week inaugurated service to Northstar Commuter Rail travelers at the Coon Rapids-Riverdale Station (3050 Northdale Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids).

“Busy commuters can order their groceries online at CobornsDelivers by 10in the morning, and we will have them there fresh and ready to pick up as customers get off the Northstar Commuter Train to head home that evening,” said CobornsDelivers VP of e-Marketing, Sue Westerman.

Northstar commuters can look for the familiar yellow CobornsDelivers delivery trucks near the park-and-ride lot exit, said Westerman, noting: “Our insulated totes keep everything fresh, cold or frozen for hours, and our delivery truck will be at the Riverdale Station every weekday.”

This past summer, CobornsDelivers launched the state’s only grocery delivery service serving park-and-ride commuters. Northstar Commuter Rail began regular service along the corridor between Minneapolis and Big Lake on Nov. 16. CobornsDelivers will deliver groceries to the Coon Rapids-Riverdale Station between 4 p.m. -7 p.m. on weekdays. Delivery is free on any order of $25 or more.

“We’ve seen steady growth in our orders for the Southwest Park and Ride Lot in Eden Prairie,” said Westerman. “Northstar is another great opportunity for CobornsDelivers to help commuters save even more time and money on the freshest groceries in town.”

Since purchasing SimonDelivers last October and renaming it CobornsDelivers, the online grocery and delivery service has seen steady growth, said Westerman. “In this economy,” she added, “customers can make their grocery dollars go much further by taking advantage of CobornsDelivers’ low prices, great selection and small delivery fee.”

In addition to its online grocery business, Coborn’s, Inc. also owns and operates 34 Coborn’s and Cash Wise Foods grocery stores in six upper Midwest states, along with convenience, liquor, video stores and pharmacies. It also operates a central bakery, a central dry cleaning facility, a central commissary, a long-term care pharmacy and its own grocery distribution center.
