Now serving on the board of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Beers conducts seminars in the United States and Europe that give women the tools to take charge, find pride and power at work, and to never miss a chance to lead in their respective industries. She began her career in advertising at J. Walter Thompson Advertising, then became CEO of Tatham-Laird before being named Chairman/CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, where she increased billings by $2 million in her five-year tenure.

While serving as Undersecretary under Secretary of State Colin Powell, she was charged with bringing Brand America to other parts of the world, specifically the Middle East. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the State Department’s highest honor for her work.
