Canadian Club 100% Rye Whisky

Canadian Club is adding Canadian Club 100% Rye Whisky to its U.S. lineup, following the whisky’s 2014 Canadian introduction. At 80 proof, the whisky is said to combine the smoothness of Canadian Club whisky with the distinct taste of rye, resulting in more complexity and character than standard rye whiskies. With a spicy yet balanced finish, the whisky offers intricate flavors of caramel, vanilla and oak, and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail. To balance the flavor, Canadian Club selects aged liquid for the rye whisky from three barrel types — brand-new white American oak barrels, once-used bourbon barrels and Canadian whisky barrels — and blended to taste.

The whisky has won several awards, including 2014 Canadian Whisky of the Year from Whisky Advocate magazine, Sippin’ Whisky of the Year at the 2015 Canadian Whisky Awards, and Gold at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The SRP is $19.99 per 750-milliliter bottle. www.canadianclub.com
