Buehler’s Fresh Foods Participates in 'Harvest for Hunger'

Buehler’s Fresh Foods will once again participate in the "Harvest for Hunger" campaign this spring – a cooperative effort of four Northeast Ohio food banks, serving 21 counties.

With the support of the community and individuals, the Foodbank expects to raise more than $1 million, $44,882 of which was raised at Buehler’s through customer donations of dollars or food purchased and placed into donation bins located in the store.

“We are honored to participate in the Harvest for Hunger Campaign and humbled by our customers’ generosity,” said Dan Shanahan, president and COO of Buehler’s Fresh Foods.

This collaboration represents one of the largest food and funds drives in the country and is the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s largest fundraising campaign. Donations will support food distribution to food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters and other hunger-relief programs in Northeast Ohio counties.

According to Harvest for Hunger, as many as 180,000 people in the Northeast Ohio communities rely on the foodbank for emergency food assistance each year.

E&H Family group owns and operates Buehler’s Fresh Foods Supermarkets and Ace Hardware stores across Ohio.
