Bottom Dollar Food Hits 60

Bottom Dollar Food will mark the opening of its 60th store in East Windsor, N.J., on Oct. 24 by giving the first 200 customers a free Bottom Dollar Food reusable bag filled with groceries, with additional shoppers to receive free reusable bags throughout the day. Additionally, the Delhaize America-owned chain will offer grand-opening prices at all 13 of its New Jersey locations.

“At Bottom Dollar Food, we won’t be beat when it comes to delivering unbelievably low prices on fresh produce, quality meats, and the private and national brands that matter most to our customers,” noted Bottom Dollar Food President Meg Ham.

The new store will open at 8 a.m., after a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local dignitaries. Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bill Bergey will be on hand to greet customers and sign autographs from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and Bottom Dollar Food will make a $1,000 donation to Hightstown-based Rise Food Pantry to aid local hunger relief efforts, in addition to contributing food to several other area organizations.

The East Windsor location adds about 45 jobs to the local economy. The Salisbury, N.C.-based chain’s other New Jersey stores are in Bellmawr, Bordentown, Cherry Hill, Cinnaminson, Clementon, Edgewater Park, Glassboro, Lumberton, Marlton, Trenton, Turnersville and Woodbury. The rest of its stores are in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
