Bob Woodward to Keynote United Fresh DC Conference

Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, associate editor of The Washington Post and political commentator Bob Woodward will present the keynote address, “The Age of the American Presidency,” at the 2017 United Fresh Washington Conference Breakfast General Session, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Woodward, who rose to fame when he and fellow journalist Carl Bernstein reported on the Watergate scandal of the Nixon Administration, will address hundreds of produce industry leaders on the topic of Donald Trump’s presidency.

“The past year has been arguably the most bizarre and unpredictable in our country’s political history,” said Robert Guenther, SVP of public policy at Washington, D.C.-based United Fresh. “Bob Woodward’s four-decade career of articulating the nuances surrounding the highest office in America – with his signature aggressive but fair and nonpartisan reporting – positions him to deliver an informative and provocative keynote to our industry, with a timely portrait of President Trump.”

Each year, the Washington Conference brings together hundreds of produce leaders from all sectors of the industry to learn more about such major industry issues as immigration, trade, tax reform and nutrition. Attendees also participate in meetings with members of Congress and their staffers, as well as top regulatory officials.

The conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
