BJ’s Selects RedPrairie Transportation Management System

BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. will implement the RedPrairie Transportation Management System (TMS) to improve its transportation operations and cut costs. The rapidly deployable solution enables retailers to boost operational efficiencies by automating transportation tasks and optimizing the planning of shipments. BJ’s goal is to better monitor carrier performance and shipment activities throughout the supply chain.

According to Trevor LaChapelle, VP, manager of global transportation at Westborough, Mass.-based BJ’s, the vendor's “TMS offers us a scalable and flexible solution to support our ongoing needs.”

“BJ’s Wholesale Club is all about value,” noted Jeff Desroches, EVP, director of logistics for at the retailer, which operates more than 190 clubs in 15 states. “To provide BJ’s members with top-quality brand-name merchandise at the best possible prices, our supply chain must remain efficient. As part of our overall supply chain strategy, RedPrairie’s [TMS] allows us to make better decisions to manage our costs.”

“From procurement and planning to execution and reporting, RedPrairie Transportation Management System will enable BJ’s Wholesale Club to remain efficient and pass on savings to its members,” said Noel Goggin, SVP, retail at Alpharetta, Ga.-based RedPrairie.
