Bi-Lo/Winn-Dixie Donates $3.1M-plus

The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation has given more than $3.1 million to 225 hunger relief organizations throughout the Bi-Lo, Harveys and Winn-Dixie footprint of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

"The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation is thankful for the immense support and generous contributions of our business partners who enable us to provide these funds to local organizations who share our mission of alleviating hunger in our communities," noted Mary Kellmanson, foundation president and chief marketing officer of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Bi-Lo Holdings. "As food and togetherness are at the core of everything we do, we strive to support those who may be food-insecure so that they may enjoy this holiday season."

Grants were awarded in October and November to organizations dedicated to hunger and hunger-related health and education issues. The foundation reviewed applications from hundreds of nonprofit groups and conducted in-depth reviews of their services and community reach. A complete list of grant recipients is available online.
