Adding Value to Grocerant Offerings
Progressive Grocer’s 2016 Grocerant Summit, October 25-26, 2016, is committed to “Building the Grocerant Experience.” Leveraging the energy from the inaugural event in 2015, this year's installment promises to be more interactive with actionable strategies from the experts in this burgeoning business.
Will Rosenzweig, dean and executive director of The Food Business School at the Culinary Institute of America, will define the business model of grocerants and help attendees embrace a new approach to this potentially lucrative store offering. Rosenzweig has spent more than 25 years integrating the practices and perspectives of an entrepreneur, venture investor, and educator. He is an expert in cultivating and transforming impactful ideas into enterprises. With a full understanding the hurdles that face grocery retailers, Rosenzweig will illustrate the elements of a sustainable, capital-efficient grocerant enterprise.
Chefs Charlie Baggs, chief executive chef, Charlie Baggs Culinary Innovations, and Steven Petusevsky, principal of Culinary Innovation for the Food Service Industry, will help retailers build a culinary offering that supports the store’s mission while reflecting the geography and demographics of individual stores. Attendees will have a greater understanding of the metrics used to create a unique, profitable offering.
Grocerant Summit takes place at the Schaumburg Convention Center in suburban Chicago. The invitation-only event is designed for grocery retailers looking to build a unique, successful fresh-prepared foods program. The event is designed by retail and CPG leaders committed to a better grocery retail marketplace.
