Calling All Outstanding Independent Food Retailers!

For 10 years, Progressive Grocer has been honoring the excellence of America's independent food retailers. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic shined a spotlight on the essential role and the exemplary actions of independent retailers who rose to the challenge of serving their communities.

Progressive Grocer wants recognize these efforts and is seeking nominations for the the 10th annual Outstanding Independents Awards program. We want to hear from independent operators, whether single-store or multi-store, who did outstanding things in 2020.

Entering is easy. We ask that nominees submit an essay (500 words or less) that highlights accomplishments and initiatives throughout the company that could be considered outstanding. This could be in areas such as category management, store design and development, innovation, operations, foodservice, technology, analytics, private label, marketing, sustainability or community impact.

It is important to show us what you've done. We ask that nominees share at least one, but as many as five photos that help support your entry. It's a good idea to showcase the interior and exterior of stores and since the photos may be used in print it is important to submit quality images.
