Winn-Dixie Senior VP and General Counsel Resigns
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. announced today that E. Ellis Zahra, Jr., senior vice president and general counsel, has resigned from the company in order to spend more time with his family and to pursue other interests. Al Rowland, president and CEO, made the announcement at the company's headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.
Zahra joined Winn-Dixie in 1995 as vice president and general counsel. On April 20, 2000 he was elected senior vice president and general counsel. Prior to joining Winn-Dixie he was the managing partner of the Jacksonville office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, one of the largest law firms in the country.
"Ellis has played an important role in helping to transform Winn-Dixie into a more efficient and more customer-driven company," said Rowland. "We appreciate his contribution to the company over the past seven years and wish him the best in the future."
