Winn-Dixie Rolls Out Newly Remodeled South Fla. Stores

Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. is ringing in 2010 with the grand reopening of many recently remodeled stores throughout greater Miami. The renovated locations new offer upgraded departments and expanded services.

“Winn-Dixie is committed to enhancing our stores and improving our customers’ shopping experience with every visit,” said Randy Rambo, regional VP of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Winn-Dixie. “We have remodeled 17 stores in Miami-Dade County, and will continue our efforts by remodeling more stores in the coming months.”

The company tailored each overhauled store to the specific community it serves. Many locations now feature wood flooring in the expanded produce department and full-service floral department, in addition to a broad assortment of natural and organic items.

Among the new deli department features are a self-service wing bar offering several flavors of chicken wings and several dipping sauces, custom-made sub sandwiches, a gourmet olive cart, and ready-to-serve hot meals.

Other improvements include baked breads, gourmet muffins and signature desserts in the store bakeries, expanded meat and seafood departments selling both pre-cut and custom-cut items, and, in select Miami-area stores, new Winn-Dixie Cuban Cafés.

Winn-Dixie operates 515 retail grocery locations, including over 400 in-store pharmacies, in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.
