Winn-Dixie to Realign Store Operations Via New Initiative

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie here revealed information this week about "Building a Better Winn-Dixie," a chain-wide, store-based realignment plan aimed at improving customer service and better aligning responsibilities and duties within stores.

Although some store-level positions have been eliminated as a result, the initiative is not intended to be a reduction in force, and no store closures are planned in connection with the realignment, according to Robin L. Miller, Winn-Dixie’s director of brand communications.

“While some positions have been eliminated, the operational realignment has also created new management and service-related positions designed to better support our operational success,” explained Miller.

She added that the majority of associates who wish to remain with Winn-Dixie should be able to find a position within the organization.

The operational realignment will also provide associates with “excellent training programs and a clear career path for advancement within our company,” she said.

The “Building a Better Winn-Dixie” plan will be implemented in all of Winn-Dixie’s 522 stores.
