Winn-Dixie Launches Online Pharmacy Program
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. is providing a new way for customers to access its pharmacy services -- on its web site. Requests for refills, new prescriptions and prescription transfers from other pharmacies are available, as well as tools to check for drug information and interactions.
Registration is required to request prescriptions, but information such as drug facts and drug interaction information is available to all users.
"Winn-Dixie is excited to offer this new service to our pharmacy customers. Online services will enhance our customer service, as it is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and easy to use," said Mike LeBlanc, pharmacy business development manager. Feedback from users and pharmacists in the testing phase has been very positive, he added.
Depending on the time of day a customer submits a request, most prescriptions can be ready in four to six hours, according to the company. Customers receive an on-screen confirmation once an order is successfully transmitted, which lists the time the prescription will be ready for pick up. All information exchanged on the web site is encrypted for security purposes, and resides behind a firewall where it cannot be accessed without proper authorization.
