Winn-Dixie Expands fuelperks!

Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. is now offering the fuelperks! Rewards program to customers using a Winn-Dixie Customer Reward Card (CRC) at any of the grocer’s 95 stores in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Fla., and Albany and Columbus, Ga., areas, who can now savings at participating Shell stations. The program from Dallas-based Excentus Corp. has already saved $21 million for Winn-Dixie shoppers in Louisiana and the Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Miami, Panama City, West Palm Beach, Fla., areas.

For every $50 in qualified purchases using the new CRC, customers earn a 5 cent-per-gallon discount on fuel that is redeemable on a single fill-up, up to 20 gallons at any one of more than 300 participating Shell stations in the area. Further, the more shoppers spend, the more program credits they earn. For instance, if a customer spends $100, he or she will earn a 10 cent-per-gallon discount, if $150 is spent, he or she earns a 15 cent-per-gallon discount, and so on. Shoppers also don’t have to spend $50 in a single transaction. Purchases are automatically tracked on receipt tapes, and each time the $50 threshold is met, another 5 cent-per-gallon discount on gas is earned.

In addition to those savings, each week there are dozens of bonus items that can be bought to amass more fuelperks! For each bonus item purchased, another 5 to 10 cents per gallon discount is earned, with no limit on the amount of bonus items that can be bought.

“We encourage shoppers to visit their nearest Winn-Dixie location to sign up for their new Customer Reward Card and start saving on gas through our fuelperks! rewards program today,” said Dan Lafever, regional VP at Jacksonville-based Winn-Dixie, which operates 484 grocery stores, including 379 in-store pharmacies, in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi. Lafaver added that the company now planned to expand the program into central Florida, “especially with gas prices back on the rise.”

“With conveniently located participating Shell stations throughout the participating Winn-Dixie markets, it has never been easier for customers to save on Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines, including our premium gasoline, Shell V-Power,” noted Dan Little, fuels marketing manager at Houston-based Shell North America.

Under the program, the CRC has been redesigned to feature a magnetic stripe on the back, similar to a debit or credit card. This new card is required to earn and redeem fuelperks! at participating Shell stations.
