Winn-Dixie to Enhance Fleet Operations with New Software

Winn-Dixie plans to deploy a suite of fleet management applications to optimize its delivery fleet, which serves the grocer’s 515 stores located throughout the southeastern United States.

The grocer will use the XATANET solution from Minneapolis-based fleet optimization solutions provider XATA Corp. Winn-Dixie will leverage XATANET’s fleet-reporting capabilities for increased real-time and trending visibility, in an effort to further reduce its operating costs. In addition, the retailer expects the solution to give its fleet managers and drivers easy access to fleet information and product delivery data via Motorola MC75 hand-held devices provided by Stratix.

“One key differentiator that made XATA stand out is its capability to run XATANET on various platforms and hardware devices,” said Chris Scott, group VP of logistics and distribution for Winn-Dixie. “The product’s functionality as well as the insight we will gain from our fleet were key factors in our decision-making process.”

XATA’s on-demand software and services were developed to help companies manage fleet operations, enhance driver safety and deliver a higher level of customer satisfaction

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Winn-Dixie operates 515 retail grocery locations, including more than 400 in-store pharmacies, in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi.
