Winn-Dixie to Bow 1st Bilingual ‘Transformational’ Store
Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. has completed its seventh state-of-the-art “transformational” store renovation, as well as the first with a bilingual décor package. The newly renovated Coral Way store in Miami will hold its grand opening on Nov. 16, followed by other promotional events scheduled through January. The events will feature cooking demonstrations, food tastings, live entertainment, raffles and giveaways, among other activities.
“This store exemplifies our commitment to South Florida guests and serves as a one-stop grocery destination catering to the needs, tastes and preferences of the surrounding community,” said Randy Rambo, regional VP at Jacksonville, Fla.-based Winn-Dixie, which operates about 480 supermarkets in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi. “We are passionate about delivering on our promise of providing Winn-Dixie guests with excellent service and an exceptional shopping experience.”
The multimillion-dollar renovation offers a range of upgraded features, including a greatly expanded produce department, an expansive, redesigned deli serving restaurant-quality entrees and side dishes, a bigger bakery, a gourmet cheese counter, expanded meat and seafood departments, an improved pharmacy and self-service kiosks for meal planning and other services, large wine and cheese sections staffed by knowledgeable specialists, a sitting area with free Wi-Fi internet access, and a full-service Cuban café featuring authentic favorites.
The store now has a cleaner, modern and more attractive setting, including a new façade with an entrance leading into the produce department. Among the physical changes to the store are hardwood flooring throughout the produce, deli and bakery departments, and highly polished concrete floors elsewhere in the store, in addition to modern lighting and brighter, more colorful bilingual décor that highlights the thousands of store offerings, including private label products and a broad assortment of Hispanic items.
