Winn-Dixie has added the generic form of Plavix (clopidogrel) to its recently launched program offering $4 for 30-day and $10 for 90-day prescriptions. The Jacksonville, Fla.-based grocer’s program provides deep discounts on more than 400 generic medications and varied discounts on name-brand and other generic drugs.

“The generic form of Plavix (clopidogrel) just recently released in market, providing customers with initial savings over the brand equivalent,” noted Winn-Dixie VP of pharmacy John Fegan. “This prescription is a highly requested medication from our customers.”

For an annual enrollment fee of $5, customers with an active Winn-Dixie Reward Card will immediately begin receiving such program benefits as a $5 store coupon automatically loaded to the shopper’s Reward Card, and $4 30-day and $10 90-day generic drug pricing on an list of more than 400 generic drugs, as well as discounts on name-brand and all other generic drugs, and continuing promotions and specials.

The program, which rolled out last month, operates through the grocer’s existing free Reward Card program. Customers with or without a card can sign up for the perscription program quickly and easily at any Winn-Dixie customer service counter.
