Whole Foods Uncorks Top 10 Holiday Wines

As consumers gear up for the holiday season, Whole Foods Market has unveiled this year's slate of Top 10 Holiday Wines, designed to pair with shoppers' favorite winter dishes.

This year, the Austin-based grocer's wine experts are highlighting Grower Champagnes in their seasonal lineup, and shoppers will find a dedicated sparkler display featuring the handmade wines in stores nationwide.

“While there’s been customer interest for some time about these Champagnes, we feel the holidays are the perfect time to celebrate the Grower Champagne movement, and introduce our shoppers to this beautiful Champagne, Gaston Chiquet,” said Devon Broglie, associate global beverage buyer for Whole Foods.

“The difference between these artisan wines made by dedicated farmers and more widely consumed sparklers is the difference between a slice of American cheese and a farmstead blue from Point Reyes," Broglie added.

In support of the launch, Whole Foods will also host Twitter Tastings on Nov. 13 and Dec. 4 from 7-8 p.m., using the hashtag #WFMwine.

The Top 10 Holiday Wines lineup includes:

  • Pizzolato Pinot Grigio
  • Globerati Sauvignon Blanc
  • Louis Latour Duet Chardonnay-Viognier
  • Sea Pines Russian River Chardonnay
  • Coppola Sonoma County Pinot Noir
  • Bodegas Belgrano Malbec
  • Leyenda del Castillo Rioja
  • Bubo Cabernet Sauvignon
  • H&G Priorat
  • Charles and Charles Merlot
  • Gaston Chiquet Champagne
