Whole Foods Issues Allergen Alert for Private Label Soy Cream Products
AUSTIN, Texas -- Whole Foods Market yesterday issued a recall of its corporate branded 365 Everyday Value Soy Cream Chocolate and 365 Everyday Value Soy Cream Vanilla lines, because the items may contain undeclared milk proteins. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The product, distributed by Whole Foods, has already reached national distribution. Following a report of a confirmed allergic reaction to the product, random testing was done and the recall was initiated.
Whole Foods Market has contacted its locations holding stocks of this product and has directed store/facility team leaders to remove the item from the shelves and destroy it until a new supply of this product becomes available.
