Weis Markets Introduces Deli Meat Line

Weis Markets has debuted the Market Street deli line, said to be a high-quality sliced deli meat program that offers customers artisanal quality at an affordable price. The items include oven-roasted turkey, hickory-smoked turkey, oven-roasted chicken breast, Virginia ham, honey ham Angus roast beef, Angus Pastrami, Angus Corned Beef and Angus Italian beef.

All Market Street products are trans fat-, gluten- and MSG-free, Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis Markets said. The retailer expects to nearly double the line during the next 12 months to include cheese, dips and spreads.

“We considered more than 40 different options before settling on our new Market Street line,” said Geoffrey Wexler, Weis Markets’ director of deli and prepared foods. “Our goal is to offer meats and cheeses that are carefully made with an unrivaled attention to detail and quality that meets our requirements — and most importantly, the expectations of our customers who are looking for excellent quality at a sharp price. Market Street does both.”

Market Street debuted on Sunday chainwide. Weis Markets said. The company is promoting the line in its weekly circular and in store with window and stanchion signs, POS material, in-store audio messages and sampling.
