Weis Flu Shot Program Offers Coupon Book

As part of the flu shot program at its 124 in-store pharmacies, at which customers age 18 and older can receive an injection from trained and certified pharmacist immunizer without an appointment, Weis Markets is offering a money-saving coupon book valued at $51.

The shots cost $29, but most senior citizens are covered by Medicare Part B and D, and many private prescription insurance plans cover the cost of the injection. Weis pharmacies also offer immunizations for pneumonia, shingles, meningitis, tetanus/diptheria/whooping cough, and hepatitis A and B, per state regulation.

“Thanks to our certified immunizer program, getting a flu shot in a Weis Markets’ pharmacy has never been easier,” said Rick Seipp, director of pharmacy operations at Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis, which operates 162 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia. “Walk-up immunizations are now available in our pharmacies, and we also offer appointments. We have certified immunizers in all of our pharmacies, and are also offering our flu shot services to businesses and senior centers in the communities we serve.”
